In these polls, I'm including only players who spent at least two seasons with a franchise on their all-time rosters.

For relocated franchises, I am including worthy players who played for the franchises prior to relocation(s).

Consider how good a player was when he played for the franchise whose roster he's included on. For example: If Fedorov is part of Team Columbus, don't think of him as the 1994 version of the player.

Objectively Carolina's 4th line center is better than Vancouver's 2nd line center.

They both average exactly 74 points per 82 games over their career. I think they're pretty much on par especially factoring in age.

On the other hand, Vancouver's 4th line RW is better than any of Carolina's wingers.

AINEC is the main part i am arguing against with my comment.

I mean, you can make the same argument about Carolina's 3rd defensive pair being better than any of Vancouver's.

I'd give the Canucks the edge here based on gamebreaking offensive talent and goaltending, but that edge is not anywhere near "AINEC" or "7-1" or any of that stuff. These teams would play a really close game.

How good was 19-20 year old Chris Pronger? Genuine question, not arguing against that very young Chris Pronger and prime Hamilton might indeed be better than any of the Canucks pairings.

I just caught the line about only considering the player's performance with that franchise.

I remember 19-20 year old Pronger being somewhat similar to Hedman or Dahlin at about the same age. The potential was obvious, but there were questions about whether he would grow into it. I also remember him seeming like a rather dumb player and person at that age, which made it strange when he matured and suddenly seemed a lot more poised and intelligent. Really came off like a meathead in his early years.

They’re oddly built teams though and Vancouver is stronger at wing than center. Mogilny is on the 4th line and his ‘96 season was arguably as good as any of Carolina’s forwards.
