There are no Canuck players who had their peaks in the 1970's and only Stan Smyl who peaked in the 1980's. Is that intentional? I might argue for Tony Tanti, Patrick Sundstrom, Tiger Williams, Paul Reinhart or Harold Snepsts as candidates to solve this recency bias.

A few of those guys could make it, plus some others, but the team had one season over 33 wins before 91-92, so it’s not surprising a lot of guys would be from the Linden/Bure, Naslund/Bertuzzi and Sedin eras.

I would put Igor Larionov on the VAN team. He didn't have his most distinguished NHL stay there, but he was still really good in his last year there and helped mentor Bure into the league. He could center the Bure line.

Also a guy like Alex Burrows, for his clutch scoring and penalty killing.

Sedin–Sedin–Burrows
Linden–Larionov–Bure
Näslund–Kesler–Bertuzzi
Courtnall–Ronning–Mogilny
extras: Gradin, Petey, Smyl

Öhlund–Lumme
Diduck–Edler
Hughes–Tanev
extra: Jovo

Luongo
McLean
