I should have mentioned that the NHL shop and Fanatics don't really have them. Seems strange they wouldn't when you can buy pretty much every other team item.

Most teams do have their own online websites - that way they get a greater % of the sale, and they offer stuff not available at the NHL shop. Maybe try there.

You mentioned newer teams, so I looked for the Seattle Kraken. They have a physical store, and I can see they sell Kraken pucks for $9.95, but only for physical pickup. Maybe if you call and ask nicely they'll ship.

AFAIK the replicas are identical to the actual game pucks, with the exception of the embedded tracking technology (which wouldn't be detectable unless you destroyed the puck to get to it). All the external markings are the same.

I believe they are slightly different. The pucks they use in game have the NHL logo on the back painted in a special paint that turns purple when it is at the correct temp. When it gets too warm the logo turns white. I don't think the replica's have this paint.

The embedded tracking technology is noticeable. there are 6 dots on each side of the tracking pucks. here is a picture of one.

They are not using the tracking pucks this year though, they are using pucks from last season because they had issues with the manufacturing process with the tracking pucks.
