What playoff race is the most interesting to watch. Both in the East and West there are races going on. In the East their are 5 teams fighting for 2 spots and in the west Vegas and the Kings are taking turns in 3rd and last wild card spot

Who cares about positioning. The West has the teams settled, there is no "RACE". East is much more interesting from a fans perspective. How is this even a question.

Let's see... In the west, the playoffs are locked in and there's no race. In the east, 5 teams are within 2 points, and only 2 of them will make it.

I can't think of anyone who would find the Western race better. Even fans of the related teams.

Does anyone except LA and Vegas fans care about them fighting for playoff positioning?

The East is somewhat interesting, but all of those teams are bad and playing like they don’t want it.

Isles have won 4 in a row, PIT has cut the 9 point deficit, earning the points in 9 straight games (in Colorado, in NYR, in TOR, in NJD, vs Tampa, vs CAR among others). Doesn´t sound like teams that don´t want it.

East is such a roller coaster ride.

Detroit and Flyers where looking like they had things locked up. Then both collapse and Washington takes over with a higher than 70 % chance of making it and those where the 3 teams who had a chance. Then Caps also loose 6 in a row (2 in OT) while Flyers and Red Wings continued being bad while Pens and Isles who where so far behind they where considered most likely out are back in it with a hot streak.

Also a lot of internal games that will decide the outcome:
Caps-Red Wings
Red Wings - Pens
Caps-Flyers
Pens-Isles

The Question is who faces Vegas? That is what is going on there and Oilers VS Vancouver for top spot in the division. Oilers have 2 games in hand and they play each other once. While the teams are settled. Everything else is up in the air

Obviously the east. The top 8 in the west is already set, kind of boring. The east is an outright battle between 5 teams for 2 spots all within 2 points of each other, one of the more intriguing races in years tbh.
