My favourite Islander, and my favourite all-time player, through and through. Mike Bossy brought me to Isles Nation in his rookie year, even though I had a much-respected local option in Lanny McDonald. I guess I owe Boss for gifting me a fan’s-eye view of The Dynasty.

Last week I learned Vic Teal’s lone Islander game was in the final week of the ‘73-‘74 season, out in LA. So this #22 never even skated before a regular season Nassau crowd.

Wacky fact: Teal’s lone Islander game was his only NHL game. His brother, Skip, also played exactly one NHL game, albeit 19 years earlier, for Boston.

One-game-career sibs? What’re those odds?

Vic Teal and Skip Teal. Great names. Little known fact: their non-athletic brother, Ebeneezer Teal, was a CPA and acted as player agent for his brothers.
