SCENARIO:
YOU have the Sedin Twins on your top line and you have the choice of filling the RW spot with one of the following.

Teemu Selanne, Daniel Alfredsson, Brett Hull or Cam Neely

All players are same age, mid-late 20's.

Which one fits best with the twins?

A prime Selanne would be the best choice here IMO. Although you couldn't possibly go wrong with Hull either.

I'd say Neely. He had a good enough shot, but he could also play a power forward game a level or two above the others. There would be practically no defense against that line other than blocking shots.

The Sedins would work best with a power forward I think. Without trying to bash them, they are on the soft side. I think Neely could score almost as much as Hull or Selanne, and would also protect them a little bit.

The best thing for the Sedins are a defensive minded forward who can provide a bit of offense. Out of those four though I would go with Cam or Alfredsson.

For whatever reason, this thread screamed "Jarome Iginla" to me, and then, I wondered why it was here.

But yeah, amongst those guys, Neely is the best, by far.

I would like them with all of them. The least firepower would probably Alffy, but it would bring a supreme defensive element to that line. Depends on what the rest of the team looks like. I guess.
For pure firepower I'd take Hull.

A prime Brett Hull would be hilarious with the Sedins. Epic ownage on a level not seen before. However, I'll go with Neely as they need someone who's a hard-worker and who can fight along the boards to optimize their game.

we seen the twins with bert, i didn't think it was as good of a match with sammy. they're not that soft and they're able to win puck battles along the boards. they also like to find the open man rather than taking screen shots.

Thats why people say Hull, Neely and Alfie. They are tough but miles ahead of Bertuzzi when it comes to skill.

it depends on what era of the twins.

if it's their first few years, you'd want neely to create room for them, go to the net, create turnovers, etc. they were not physically strong yet, weren't great at carrying the puck, and only got by passing the puck from the perimeter. in that situation, hull, alfredsson, or selanne would be wasting the twins, it would be like playing them with any two scrubs. neely could actually have utilized their skills productively.

but present day sedins would absolutely destroy the league with hull. they're bigger, stronger, faster, more assertive, they create their own room, they go to tough areas, and now a guy like hull who disappears and then has a knack for reappearing in open scoring areas would be perfect for them. obviously, they know how to find a guy like that like few others can.

The first years they were used as a defensive line basically to learn the game slowly. Thats why they played with Klatt.
