Heiskanen. There's a good list of solid D-men, but no one else comes close. A bunch of middle pairing guys for the most part.

This isn't a discussion. None of the other guys are clear guys you'd be comfortable naming as a top 2 D on your team. Heiskanen, even if you have reluctance about his offensive upside, is pretty clearly a guy who you are comfortable as a top-pairing guy, with clear #1 franchise potential (if he isn't already there).

This thread makes no-sense, unless there for whatever reason a debate about who was the best Finnish defender in another thread.

The Finns have a weak group of Dmen, but the national team nearly always plays a solid defensively game. The coaching is top class, but of course none of them are deemed worthy to coach in the NHL.

This cant be true? I get that Hedman is all-world atm, but there is plenty of top pairing guys and one recent Norris winner as challengers. This is basically a future Norris contender (maybe, or probably depending on who you ask) and a bunch of guys who are varying degrees of mediocre/bad. Its a bit like asking who is the best forward from Slovenia.
