This is a tough year. Totally forgot about Prisoners.

Mud was an underrated movie for sure.

Another under the radar film from this year is Short Term 12. I only ended up watching it recently, as it kept being brought up as a launching point for so many young actors that have hit it big recently (Brie Larson, Rami Malek and Lakeith Stanfield).

I never understood the praise for Gravity. The cinematography, sure, it's amazing but beyond that, meh. It has a ridiculous plot. Plus whenever I heard Sandra Bullock and George Clooney talking when they weren't on screen I couldn't get the image of them in a studio reading their lines into a mic with headphones on out of my mind. I just couldn't get past it.

I saw Gravity in the theater where I was supposed to be blown away and I wasn't.
