Al Hamilton?
oh yeah. I suppose he should be included, tho I never actually saw him play.
Al Hamilton?
A little list I put together of the Oilers best defensemen in history. Spoiler alert: no current members made the cut. LOL.
http://alongtheboards.com/2014/09/top-10-best-defensemen-in-edmonton-oilers-history/
- Paul Coffey
- Charlie Huddy
- Kevin Lowe
- Steve Smith
- Al Hamilton
- Randy Gregg
- Janne Niinimaa
- Boris Mironov
- Risto Siltanen
- Tom Gilbert
Solid list. I'm sure it's not a popular opinion, but I'd flip Pronger and Coffee. The list is simply the best dmen who played here, and Pronger is one of the most dominant defensemen of all time... in all 3 zones. Not just one. He's literally the difference between contending for a cup and contending for the top draft pick
I can see why, if we are counting the length of consistent service from Staios in his favor. However, shouldn't that subtract a lot of points from Pronger? There doesn't seem to be a consistent logic to the list from the article. How on earth is Niinimaa not on that list and Staios is??

I feel Steve Smith was demoted too much for one mistake
