The match sucked regardless of outcome though. Went on to a dead crowd and had a stipulation that worked against the feud. Everyone has their dunce caps on then.

I still maintain that WWE horribly botched the main event that year by not making it Cena/Orton. That was prime Psycho Orton and the amount of heat he had plus the way he was skewing the young adult demographic at the time had shades of Austin written all over it (not comparing them, just similar). Cena love/hate was similarly also on a high mark around that time and would've provided an incredible antithesis to Orton's arc. Having them face off at WM25 would've given WWE the payoff they wanted when they messed the feud up later that year.

The reason why Cena/Orton never became as big and never became an all-time great feud like it should've been is because WWE pulled the trigger after Triple H destroyed Orton's momentum at Mania.
