Do you already have the rest of your gear? If I were buying gear now, I'd cheap out on the blocker in favour of your mask, and well, pretty much everything.

I'd agree, out of the main stuff, the blocker is probably the least important to slurge on. I got one of those Vaughn Ventus ones for about $150CDN, and it has treated me really well.
