Ooooof. Just get Georgiev so we're not losing by 4-6G/game & have our G potentially solved for next season & beyond. AA straight up which is probable/possible slight overpayment, get 'er done. Could also be a steal if Georgiev is the real deal & long-term solution & AA fizzles, the latter of which is unlikely. He's probably a 40-50pt guy moving forward on any other roster, maybe more.

Meh, tank was solely ours already anyways, as no one is catching us. It would take both a new level of stench record losing streak from another team, and us playing even close to .500 hockey which we won't. Even if we somehow went 18-18-0 the rest of the way, which is a gigantic leap for our 12 win team (through 46 games), we only hit 63 pts, which is only 24 pts ahead of current ANA or NJD, without them even picking up another point.

Being more likely, a 12-24-0 record gets us to 51 pts, only a 12 pt gap to ANA and NJD, which means one of those teams can only win 6 games the rest of the year, or similar to 6-30-0 the rest of the way, which is worse than we even did. Even that bad of a record would still only tie us in points. Maybe we win 15 who knows, but both of those other teams are going to win at least 10 each, so we have last place long sewn up at this point.

Yes and no. Almost every team is in trouble if they have their best winger, best defensive D and #1 goalie out for long periods of time. The fact that we would have been bad even with perfect health is another thing.
