Note: Credit to a guy on the trade board who said, hours before this went down, a friend of his had booked Bishop a flight to Minnesota, paid for by the LA Kings.

Is it too early to start a Bishop appreciation thread? I'm gonna miss this guy. I think the team is gonna miss him too.

Boston killed us today with their win. We're cooked. Gotta get the returns we can. And, really, this deal solved what would have been a pretty big back-up goalie issue for next year. Vasy still has growing pains ahead. At least we have a guy who's shown he can step in.

So a top end goalie for a 34 year old career backup a kid I've never heard of and a pick. Kings won big on this deal. Quick & Bishop.

This trade is really bumming me out. We could have traded Bishop for a huge return last summer but we kept him for a Cup run. But the team **** the bed instead so now we're giving him up for probably a bunch of underwhelming pieces and the rest of the season is going to be a depressing cluster****. Bishop is an elite goalie and this is how his time here ends. Just really goddamn sad.

Also I feel bad for Vasy who is going to have to be The Guy before he's ready. He's going to get a lot of negative attention if he can't step up quickly.
