Could someone give an overview of the clubs in the Belarus Extraleague A and B leagues like the person did in this post about the NLA in switzerland.

Switzerland: - NLA Talk
Well, extremely short version would be:

At this point, the big teams are Zhlobin, Gomel, Neman, Yunost and Soligorsk. Dinamo is a bit of a wild card as KHL Dinamo's farm so their competitiveness is tied to the big club. The rest, at this point, are bottom feeders and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Most of the teams are artificial projects (as opposed to more natural, continuous activity of sports clubs in countries like Switzerland) that emerged/reemerged during the arena-building boom at the start of 21st century. At the end of the 20th century, the Belarussian league had 4 teams (and only 1 of those survives to this day). Political/economic factors obviously played a part.

So the Belarussian league had to rebuild itself. For example, Soligorsk is a Belarussian football powerhouse but when the government built an ice rink, they became an ice hockey powerhouse as well  If you are familiar with how the Russian/USSR sports system works that's nothing new and perfectly understandable.

Yunost is a team closely tied to the state and it's Minsk's team when Dinamo doesn't make the KHL playoffs or drops out of those. They have been the richest/most financially stable team for those reasons throughout the period but they are pretty close to the pack in the last 10 years or so, them not winning the league is no longer a big surprise. Still, a perennial favorite.

Neman is recently their biggest competition but for whatever reason, they have a significantly lower budget this season so we will see if it's a one-off or a new trend.

Zhlobin and Gomel have a bit of a rivalry going being from the same region and having fairly competitive teams year after year (meaning A LOT of games being played between those year after year). Not a real title challengers most of the time though. However, Gomel did make the finals for the first time since 2009 so best of luck to them.

If you are interested in any more specific details don't hesitate to ask again.

Which are the most popular teams in the country? Do any of the teams have any real fanbases or are they non-existent? How much would tickets costs to a game?

Tickets, for the next game on March 8th Soligorosk v Vitebsk the most expensive ticket is €1.80 the cheapest is €0.80 according to XE currency exchange. The rink looks to around 70/80% sold out as well.

Looking at last season, 2021. Gomel and Mogilev would be the most popular.

HC Gomel had avg 1628 fans per game
Mogilev had avg 1510 fans per game
