Robbie is definitely trying his best to get back to Chicago.

I know the 49ers don't want to back down but at what point do they say "enough is enough" and move on from Gould?

I don't think anything happens until he starts missing real games.

Do the 49ers really want this to hang over them during camp and into the season?

It's a kicker. Regardless of how good he is, he's still a kicker. 49ers aren't really contending imo, so it's not he's an integral part of their equation like Le'veon Bell was for the Steelers. If he starts actually missing games that may change the math, but no one is going to care if he's there for training camp/preseason. Not like he needs to learn a new system or anything.

Exactly, he's a kicker. So why draw the line in the sand with a kicker?

Not saying you two freaked out over Parkey, but it is a bit funny to see people say Gould is "just a kicker" or something along those lines after the mass freakout over Parkey after the game against Philly, and his season in general.

Not saying they aren’t important, but no franchise is going to want their hand forced by a kicker... because it’s a kicker.

Good for Robbie. Still think the 49ers acted like pricks.

So.....it's likely to be Pineiro and hope for the best. Man I hope this season does not come down to a kicker.

Kicker is the reason the Bears did not advance in the playoffs last year.

Tru dat but the game never should have come down to a field goal kick. Bears were far and away the better team but the offense aside from the last drive was impotent with a 75 rated Maddon QB leading the charge.

That's the thing, Parkey was absolutely the exclamation point reason we all some coming as costing us a vital game, so he deserved to be cut and blame on the front office is needed for letting that problem fester to the point that it did.

But Parkey also gave the offense and coaching staff a huge shield from necessary ridicule for a fairly inept game.

Not true

Remember there were people here telling me and others that "Kicking situation was fine" and that it wouldn't "Hurt us" , etc , etc

It was essentially perfect Ron Howard voiceover moment

And your right it gave Nagy and offense shield from media and most fans. Hell on this very board we saw people try to defend the pathetic offense saying how it had that one good drive in 4th so that somehow made it fine and how Nagy and Trubisky were awesome somehow
