This is the way
Of course, my first GDT and the site will be down at like 10pm SK/AB time lol. Guess we'll see how this goes! Hope y'all enjoy my short story GDT!
In Calgary:
It was 5:30am in Calgary. It’s gameday. Darryl Sutter has slept in.
Darryl texting Cassie: Cassie, I can’t believe I slept in. I’ve got to come up with a different gameplan from last season against the Oilers. I no longer have Kneeor ---- Mark… to help defend McDavid out there. I only have 12 hours. I have to assemble the crew. AND Bessie and Beth have to be fed as well!
Cassie: I could come over and feed them to save you time, Darryl!
Darryl: Cassie, I’m not sure how to tell you this, but I trust you to feed Beth as much as I trust Matthew not to be a shit head out there tonight.
Later that morning in Calgary, at a reasonable time
Whenever Connor is in town, or playing in Edmonton, little Johnny always gets excited for his walks with Connor in the little man carrier.
Connor: Johnny. You’re 28 years old dude, I can’t believe I’m still doing this.
Johnny: Shut up and get walkin’ Connor. Mom ran out of apple juice boxes and Lunchables this morning, so I’m really not in the mood right now.
Meanwhile, over at Brad Treliving’s quarters…
Brad never really though through just how important Mark Giordano was to his club, especially facing the Oilers. The Flames GM has been trying to acquire back Mark for some time now, and today, he made an offer he thought Ron Francis could not refuse…
Needless to say, the Flames are looking all out of sorts before their first game of the season…
Over in Edmonton
The boys are ready to go. They’re getting the Kass Attack back tonight. 41-year-old Evan Bouchard is finally out of head coach Dave Tippett’s doghouse, as the grizzled 20-year vet is looking like a 21-year-old out there. Their head coach Dave Tippett just upgraded his old, worn down, should’ve-gotten-rid-of-3-years-ago Samsung 42” 720p TV with a 50-inch LG 4K TV.
The fantastic 4 are ready to take on the Flames!
LET'S GO OILERS!!!!!
