Jets management has already stated publically then are looking at only long term solutions on D, specifically stated no rentals. Barrie wouldn't even be looked at until the summer as a FA.

Why does Winnipeg do this. Barrie a ufa, Kerfoot is no where near a 2nd line center. Plus u want a first wow. If Jets have interest in Barrie they can pursue him in the off season.

Jets might make a trade to help the D if it's cheap and the guy has a short term but that's unlikely. Their looking at FA and/or hockey trade to fix the D long term. Biggest needs are a good 2C and top 4 D. Kerfoot is more a 3C and Barrie is a rental so neither is a fit. I do think Lowry could be a trade piece this summer, but is currently out injuried.

Both........they currently ran all year with two top 4 D and the other four spots were filled with bottom pairing guys and waiver pickups. Jets do have multi good/decent D prospects but will they be ready next year or not is the big question......either way Jets at a min need at least one.....maybe two top 4 D for next year from internal or FA or trade.

Sadly I think they should be sellers. I dont see them getting by the Bruins, Pens, Caps, or Lightning. Re-tool for next year.

Barrie for sure. Muzzin and Hyman potentially as well. I'd ditch Kerfoot the first chance I got too.

Lowry is the only toughness on the Jets and is one of the best shutdown C's in the league. To me, he's pretty high on the "do not inquire about" list.

If we load up at all near the deadline, it's likely for a lower tier player. Hopefully someone a little more on the defensive defeseman side.
