Barkov has this locked up. Tavares is a good player but Barkov is the more complete player and getting better. You put Marner beside Barkov and he'd be putting up scary stats. Huberdeau is no slouch but Marner is better for sure then him as a linemate.

The defensive guy just outscored the offensive guy by 8 points. Both had career years and ones younger by 5 years not sure how you think Tavares is better offensively. Defensively it's not even close.

This "easily" answer is comical. Barkov should be the better going forward, but that doesnt take away from JT. The dude is still a superstar player, who had a great year.

The "easily" answer doesn't take anything away from Tavares either. Both can be absolutely great players while the other one is still clearly better.

It's a bit comical that people are giving Tavares the edge offensively when Barkov's career best in points is 8 points better than anything Tavares has ever done.

I'd say it's still close offensively because Tavares is a better goal scorer and has been a point per game guy more consistently (ie. more often). But if Barkov has another season where he out-scores Tavares by almost 10 points again, I don't think there's an argument about who would be better at that point.
