Insane: Reino got the 2nd most 1st place votes!

Knew it from the moment I saw Matthews nominated.

It could only mean that Barkov was running away with this in a no-contest race, that allowed Matthews to sneak in with all the votes from Canadian-medias.

Too bad it took a top-3 finish away from Reinhart though… Mr. Pornstar 69 shouldn’t be near the top-5 in that category, he is NOT a defensive-player no matter what fancy stats or Keefe tried to sell those stupid fans over the border.

Congrats to our Captain ! You’re the greatest Sasha !!

:P

Health will be Barkovs #1 competition for future Selke wins. There's just no other forward now in the nhl that can compete with him

If Reinhart doesn't re-sign with us it could be interesting if he gets more votes being on a different team than Barkov. Still, Barkov should be the favourite to win it.

He constantly does like tons of little things right that are easy to miss in a high tempo game, sometimes it's like hockey poetry...

Barkov is pretty much the reason I got properly interested in hockey so owe him a lot, not least stress and lack of sleep ;-)! After the fun Cinderella run last year (while I was visiting family in Toronto), I saw some of his jaw-dropping highlights which then led me to listen to some videos/podcasts about his overall impact on the ice. And that just made me fascinated by the hockey - by the complexity of it and types of players and teams that excel. I'm obviously still very new to the sport and in the process of learning it, but watching what Barkov does and all the ways he contributes to his team was an amazing gateway to an appreciation of the sport as a whole. Hockey poetry indeed!

Not to mention the fact that I have the largest crush on the guy - it's not even funny. My partner is well aware I would dump him in a hot minute for my sweet wonderful Sasha...

Well done Captain - you deserve it!! I hope you win this at least another five times - have to get one over Bergeron here.

Wonder how many of his votes came from him leading the league in SHG, playing alongside Barkov on the PK?

Don't get me wrong, Reinhart is a good defensive forward, but I think some of his votes were due to being with Barkov 5v5 and on the PK.

For me it was Jágr gushing about Barkov and Huberdeau.

Jágr immediately after being traded: "[Moping face]. We players get moved around like goods, it sucks. ... Umm, sure, I don’t mind Florida. [Moping face]."

Jágr a few days later: "OMG GUYS HAVE YOU SEEN IT?!? HAVE YOU SEEN IT?!? This Barkov kid is SO SO good also Huby's great OMG Ihaveacrush Imsohappytobehere!!!!"

Naturally I had to see what this was all about :D

Well, what I got from that is I have competition from Jagr. Women can rock mullets as well and I fight dirty. Plus, he must be in his fifties and the stereotype of an old washed up, out of shape fomer athlete. He's obviously not still playing professionally - I mean, that would be utterly ridiculous. I like my chances...

f***ING JASON ROBERTSON OVER BARKOV AS YOUR FIRST PLACE VOTE?!!!!!!!!!

So if we are being totally transparent... This guy knows shit about hockey. And he writes for the Nucks...

No Barkov in top-5, three guys from a canadian team... And Sam Reinhart, the great canadian candidate, getting a vote so he can say "yeah I did watch the Panthers, but that canadian kid scoring 57 goals is better defensively than that shy finnish center"... Non-sense.

So yeah... In total transparency... This guy shouldn't have a job in sports journalism.

I'd bet he just did it for the attention and it worked. Probably got a lot of clicks, people who think he's an idiot don't follow him anyways. Worst form of today's 'journalism'.

If Reinhart sings another team he will score under 50 points and goes minus, not kidding
