Thats a shockingly miserable return...I sorta felt they'd get at least a 2024 2nd rounder

That chapter is closed - Thanks Josh!

Frees up necessary cap space.

I will miss Josh. Always liked the player. Felt bad when Snow f***ed his development by rushing him for cap reasons and him missing the WJC. He was loyal, signed that deal when the stuff with Snake was up in the air and chose to stay. Never understood the hate, but understand the $5M is too much for what he brings now.

Best of luck, Josh!!

buyout candidate? or will he play for them?

edit: oops sorry guys thought this was the main board thread, you guys probably have no idea what the blackhawks will do. sad to see Bailey gone and will be weird seeing him in another jersey even as a non-Isles fan

Godspeed Josh.

Honestly it’s a miracle that a midrange player can last 15 years in one organization without winning anything.

Repeating what I wrote in the other thread, not a bad deal here to dump that cap hit. Figured it would be a 2nd rounder but to have it be a 2026 2nd (so a player whose ETA is 2028-2030) is pretty solid.

Offseason gets a little bit more interesting now (even if our cap situation is still tight),

Will always love and appreciate Bailey. Bitter, sweet, but necessary.

Much-needed camper leave now and he’s going to be a great mentor for the young hawks. Chicago is where I predicted he would end up made the most sense to me. Let’s see what Louie does now 2026 is a long ways away so it’s OK.

Not going to lie though I didn’t think it would take us giving a second round pick to get rid of Bailey. He has one year left and his actual money is a lot lower than his cabinet. He also can still play but it is what it is we needed it.

The only thing that pisses me off is the money we made room for should go to upgrading the team, but it most likely will go to signing Engvall Varly and whatever moves Lou makes in-house. At that point, just eat the one year and sent him to the AHL.

Bailey will be top 10 in scoring this year...especially if he gets to play with Bedard.

Bailey will have Draisaitl numbers!
