Regarding his post game speech, he's a quiet guy when it comes to media so not surprising he'd feel nervous for that first game puck speech. He is much more comfortable with his skates on and that's where he does his best work.

I think he struck exactly the right note for a rookie winning the game puck. Endearing.

And 9000 pages. But yes, you’re correct.

I’d like to see more of Meyer before putting a ceiling on him. Besides with JB, Meyer will inevitably be tried out on every line at some point.
Can already see in game 82 the 1st line of MacDermid-Meyers-Kaut while line 2 is NAK-Compher-Ranta. The forums will be going off on how we'll never win a playoff game with this coach.

Had a feeling he'd fit in well on this team but that was still impressive to see how he just jumped right in and didn't look out of place at all. Made it look easy and got better as the game went on as well. He'll fit Bednar's system to a tee.

Meyers is basically the Jost replacement. What they hoped Jost would be. Similar size, similar hard working two way style, has some grit to go with some skill in his game, but he's just quicker, so he fits on the Avs better.

He's bigger than Jost, or Jost played like a 160 lb. wet rag.

Not by much. He's just got a faster first few steps and is better at keeping his feet moving and carrying speed through the O zone, so he's better at avoiding contact. Jost tried to play off the contact too, which was always a mistake IMO.

Meyers - 5'11" 194 lbs
Jost - 5'11" 187 lbs
