I don't agree with that at all. Far worse rentals got far better returns, Lučić most notably. It's all about perspective. If it's for only one year it's not crap return.
I'll repeat it here: EK tied Dorion's hands by not agreeing to any extension before the trade.
I think Melinda will play major part in this. Highly dependent on how close to home she wants to be.I think EK easily extends in San Jose. They have a great culture there, players seem to love playing there.
I don't see why he wouldn't but you never know.I think EK easily extends in San Jose. They have a great culture there, players seem to love playing there.
Nope, one-year rental or not it's still a garbage return.
Also they have Ryan Merkely. In a great locker room. Now he gets to learn from the 2 best offensive dmen of this generation. So so so smart for SJ
For Karlsson, I hope he wont sign a contract with San Jose.
Evander Kane
Logan Couture
Joe Pavelski
Joe Thornton
Tuomas Hertl
Etc.
Come on. That forward core wont bring you a cup.. ever..
I don’t think it is good enough.. and
Also it is getting too old, to make any sense to sign there for 6-8year deal..
You keep throwing out this word rental as if all are made equal. And again, a bum like Lučić got a potential starting goalie, a very good prospect (Miller) and a 1st round pick. This is the best defenseman the world has seen since Lidas hanged them up and he got traded for less than 3 months of Lučić got for the Bruins FFS.A "19 yo Jost-level prospect" + 1st rd pick + 2nd pick + another 1st or 2nd.
That's certainly not crap return for a rental (and I'm not counting the other stuff).
When you have a backend like they do you don't really need super elite forwards, look at Nashville.
