Barrie getting rid of his rookie number and going back to the number he had in Kelowna. He has officially made it.

Olver is probably changing his number so Tanguay can have #40.

Has Downie ever worn #17 before?

Downie's 17 will look weird, but otherwise ok.

Barrie with 4 is nice, and Tanguay taking 40 over 18 is welcome.
Sarich, Olver, Benoit (61 is an awesome looking number though) don't matter me much.

My Tanguay jersey is correct again! Good thing I kept the GF from adding that to the garage sale last summer. :yo:

Yeah he did with the Phantoms. He wore #7 with Kitchner, Spitfires, and Petes, #27 with the Flyers and Avs.... I think he just like numbers with 7 in them, or it is a message to the total amount he wants on his next deal.

Nice of the team to give out the info. Have they done this before and I've just repressed too many memories?

Downie has worn 9 in the NHL as well.

My thoughts exactly on Barrie, gets a number upgrade. I've always loved the 4, Barrie will look good wearing it.

Benoit was 61 with Ottawa, first time an Avs player will wear that number.

Very cool about Tanguay going all the way back to 40. Anyone know why he changed from 40 to 18 in the first place?

Sarich has been 6 and 21 so with those unavailable 16 makes sense.

And I still love MacKinnon's choice of 29. :p:

It was news to me, that Olver is still part of the team.

I guess he could play next season, If there's a lot of injuries.

EDIT;

Don't get me wrong, Olver is nice little troll, but winning team shouldn't have him in roster, IMO.

Olver has a 1-way contract, but it's low enough salary to be able to bury it in the AHL if there is need. (capwise)

I'm glad Barrie changed to a real number.

It'll be strange seeing #10 on a player like Olver but I hope we see a lot of it. Hopefully Downie can get his Avalanche career actually started now too.

I like Olver going to 10 and Barrie going to 4. Their previous numbers were given to them at training camp anyway.

I like the new numbers for Barrie and Tanguay (new old number).

The rest is whatever to me. Odd to have a defenseman wearing #16.

Agreed. First thing I thought was this will be a fresh new start for Downie. Hyped to see him rip some heads off.

Liked the #41 on Barrie, but #4 is good. I like the new Olver number as well, didn't like #40. Disagree that he shouldn't be on a winning team...
