If he was willing to sign one year deals for the rest of his career, that's the only way he'd actually be worth 5M.

Same with Kadri, he just has a higher floor once not in a contract year.

He’s a players coach, but is still hard on the team. Perfect mix. As long as the Avs still have talent and provide him with players with the skating and effort level to play within his system, he’ll deliver.

Seriously though Jared Bednar teaches the best system in the league. Bednar hockey is where the stars on the team can play the same game the grinders do. He and his staff deserve the raise because they constantly get the best out of every player that joins this team (insert Jost/Newhook joke here).

Bednar is a relationship Coach and pretty much a f***ing cool guy.
