Nice OP.

Kaut probably isn't getting called up to play on the 4th line though. My guess would be that we roll with Compher and O'Connor/O'Brien on the 4th line and have some combination of Saad/Nichuskin/Soderberg/Kaut on the 2nd and 3rd lines (and Burakovsky on the 1st line).

Bura I would imagine, he’s got a hell of a shot and Girard really runs the second unit.
Burakovsky doesn't really use his shot much on the PP though. He mostly just stays at the half boards and shuffles the puck up to the point or down to the guy on the goalline. If he could develop his ability to get closer to the net and let shots off faster he'd get another 5+ goals per season easily.

That’s the MO of the Avs PP isn’t it?

Mackinnon is decent at attacking the slot though, and Rantanen tends to get within shooting range when receiving passes. Burakovsky by contrast stays much more on the perimeter and isn't as good as Rantanen at sneaking closer to the net for quick shooting opportunities.

Won't be able to watch this one, but I am expecting a loss just due to not playing a game in a week and having Grubs/Rantanen out.

I thought that Mikko did not have covid. What is keeping out of the lineup?
The NHL's rules. Was deemed to have had close contact with someone who tested positive, outside the organization, as William Nylander did, so he has to quarantine until he has so many negative tests over a period of days. Meanwhile, all his teammates that were exposed to other teammates with COVID, that have tested negative, can still play.

Honestly thats a pretty "heavy" lineup, I don't dislike it for a matchup with the Blues.

still rooting for a Dubnyk-Binnington fight

also it's been long enough I forgot that O'Brien and O'Conner were two different people for a second and disappointed myself
