Yah good. Guy sucked here. Seems like a nice guy so hopefully he does well in Seattle. The extra cap space will usher the return of Lars Eller at the deadline. I cant wait.

Poorly worded, my bad. The 5th can be used to offset the fact that when we trade someone our 1st, it's going to be a very late 1st rounder....The 32nd overall.

Have faith. Joe is going to temporarily take over, trade our next 2 1sts rounders to Arizona for 6 second round picks (they currently have 10 over the next 3 years). Then at the deadline he's going to get busy with all those 2nds.

In the 275:12 he logged at even strength for the Avs he had an xGF% of 48.84. The last three games:
12:34 TOI - 41.10 xGF% vs Buffalo
08:57 TOI - 59.44 xGF% vs Calgary
11:39 TOI - 17.18 xGF% vs Philadelphia
Cogliano, Kiviranta, Olofsson, MacDermid and Manson all have more goals than Tomas. Hell, Sam Malinksi, and Ben Meyers are tied with him in goal scoring. He was just simply not effective, not good, or heavily sheltered and still not producing.

Evolving this team by first getting the softest most useless guy out is building for playoffs.

The team this year is just Mackinnon,n Rantanen and especially Makar, featuring recovering Nuke. Play them and only them (no 5th player) all night long.
Sad panda here, as are surely my fellow Slovak Avs fans. But yeah, it was not working, he came way too late into his career. Did not see this trade coming, at least not now, but he was definitely not going to stick around post season anyway. Probably his last season in NHL, if he somehow does not click in Seattle.
Now lets hope the money saved on his contract can be used to get some notable reinforcement, be it right now or at trade deadline, but after none of our summer acquisitions truly setting the world alight (though Wood is probably doing exactly what was expected and Colton after slower start seems to get into it), we really could use someone, at last, who would provide lot of music for little money and be real difference maker.
