Does anyone know how long someone who broke some ribs would usually be out?

Since he played a few shifts after I would say it is a minor fracture, So about a month. But it depends how bad it is, I cracked some ribs and could hardly breath for a couple weeks, let alone take a hit. It is a hard injury to play through, for me it was worse then even a groin strain/pull.
