Bit of a stretch. 41 in 56 would not guaranteed become 60 in a full season. I’d say 50/50 at best that year

It was 41 in 52

lol

“Would have been his 3rd 60 goal away of it wasn’t for the stupid covid lockdowns”

Pretty definitive statement there

It means he was on pace for it silly, no need to get all huffy and puffy over it

Hahaha

Matthews almost has more goals than both of them combined. Also, Drai is not on the same stratosphere as Matthews.

Cool story. AM34 is the best scorer in the world, but it does not change the fact that McDavid is in another stratosphere. He will end up with more assists than AM34 points, and as many primary assists as AM34 goals.

Auston Matthews may finish as the best even-strength goalscorer of all time:

Here's the current lists of times a player has led the NHL in ES scoring:

Matthews currently has an 8 goal lead in even-strength goals with 8 games left. Pretty likely he'll be tied for 2nd all-time at the end of this season.

Incredible scoring talent. Already a better even-strength scorer (relative to his peers) than Gretzky.

56 team games. Premise was 60 goal season not 60 goal pace. So that year he would’ve had 26 more games not 30 more.

True, but it changes his pace. He was still pacing to hit it even with the 4 missed games. But not by enough to say anything definitively, sure.

Actually he's the greatest goal scorer of all time because he already scored 60 goals twice, imagine how many 60 goal seasons he'll have when he's 40+ !
Well by your logic he will have 10 goals once he reaches 27.

Wait I get it. So from 27-35 they drop off. But then when players turn 40 they pick back up? Incredible, Keep going. I was going to watch Saturday night live but why bother !

Whats up with the random triggered posters lol, guy has a 2nd 60 goal season and people are hating ?
I think most people realize that he turns 27 soon so he is done now

Sorry, it's just math.

jk Matthews is a generational goal scorer, which almost any fan should appreciate. (Atlantic fans are allowed to dislike it by letter of sports law)

Congrats to Matthews, two 60 goal seasons under his belt already and he's still in his prime.

Man has potential for 800+ goals if he stays healthy.
