If we end up playing in the second round, feel free to not believe in your team again, ok?

That won't be a problem as I have all the respect in the world for Brodeur and do not want to have to face him in a playoff series. As it stands now though a Vancouver vs. Detroit series has a slighly higher probabilty than Detroit playing Dallas or Minnesota.

Of the three possible 2nd round opponents I'm hoping I'll face the Wild. Not due to any disrespect for the Wild but when looking at the teams respective goaltenders I'd rather face Toskala than Brodeur or Kipprusoff who single handedly eliminated the Wings in last years Detroit vs. Dallas meeting. Toskala is a very good netminder in his own regard he's just the lesser evil in this case.

That said both the Wild and Blues would have to win the last two games of their respective series for that matchup to occur. Go Wild and Blues (geez that hurt to say).

My guaranteed bad luck in sports betting pays off again. :D
I'm a chronic loser when it comes to betting in sports and I needed every bit of luck to beat the Blues. So betting the first round on a win for them probably helped me here.. ;)

Wow. Well, my bracket is blown with the Blues' early exit. I've gotta hope for Rich's boys to run the table to have a chance now. (Drew, you can come out of the West, since I had you losing in the Western Conference final).

Nothing like the first round for surprises. My congratulations to Ville, and my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Snake-bit Nick. :amazed:

Hate to break it to you, but I don't think that would help you much since I had my team beating Drew's in the Finals.

Out of curiosity, anyone else pick their own team to go all the way? Or was everyone else afraid of jinxing themselves?

So, the pool now is a three way race between Ville, Rich and Matt Kowalchuk. Matt explodes to the top of the standings by predicting 3/4 correct second round results. Basically though Rich is screwed because both he and Ville have the Devils winning the cup and Ville has more points right now. So essentially it comes down to the who wins the Eastern Conference. Devils win, Ville takes the pool. Sabres win, Matt takes the pool (at least thats what I've come up with).
