Option 2 is winning for now.

If we have a situation where more teams make the playoffs than not, then we absolutely must do option 2. Otherwise, the people who miss out on the playoffs will feel like they didn't have much of a chance to get their say in, and they will feel really bad about it because so few teams aren't missing the playoffs.

I think it will actually be smoother. Obviously you know the strengths and weakness of your own team and can adjust with other teams who may need what you have a surplus of. Should be interesting. Don't see a ton of deals but some folks will swap for positional need.

Eh, not really. Everyone has a good read on value based on where the player was drafted. It'd be easy to see lopsided deals and squash them with the trade committee. Just being able to trade picks during the draft should also speed things up as you won't have as many lulls due to GM's waiting for somebody to get back to them on potential deals that are more complex with players involved.
