We all know how drafting and developing is the key for a market like Ottawa. I am going to take a look at what we managed to do with every draft pick since the Murray Era and since his scouting staff has been in place (2008). He was hired June 23rd, 2007, so everything that happened before was under John Muckler. Dorion eventually replaced Murray April 10th, 2016.

2008 Entry Draft

If Muckler didn't trade that 2nd round pick for Saprykin (lol at Oleg getting a 2nd rounder) then he could have drafted Stepan or Hamonic.

I mean, if we're playing the "what if?" game with Muckler, we've got to start with Lee over Kopitar...
