There were some rumors weeks ago that Pittsburgh was looking to make a trade for a forward to play with Malkin.... With Dupuis out long term now, I bet they will pursue this more aggressively... I wonder who they will target....

Andrej Nestrasil on waivers... Left wing prospect..

What are the rules of taking a prospect and stuffing him in the minors off of waivers?

Jack Johnson screwed over by his loon parents. Great job by Portzline.

Never ever give power of attorney to anybody unless you hire a watchdog to keep tabs on them. It's like Casino. **** trust. It's reality.

When I deployed to Iraq I had to give my wife a general power of attorney. Luckily she worked and had her own salary. But I served with dudes who got cleaned out by ******* wives whille they were at war.

As for Johnson, he'll recover. Must be a tough pill to swallow though to see your own parents liquidate 10 years of hard earned salary.

I wonder how the Leafs will respond to their loss to Nashville when they play the Bolts tonight. Things could get real ugly in Toronto....

If you claim a guy on waivers, he's put on your NHL roster. You'd have to waive him again to put him in your own minor league system.

There's a rule in place to prevent what you're suggesting--if a player who is waived is claimed by a team, and that team then waives him, he can be re-claimed by his original team and sent directly to the minors without again being waived. So if we claimed Nestrasil and later waived him, Detroit would just reclaim him and send him directly to the AHL.

I like your thinking, but the point of waivers is to give guys an opportunity to catch on with other NHL teams, not just to shuttle them to different AHL affiliates.

Wow. Not only are his parents selfish, they're as dumb as rocks.

Terrible what people do for money.

That is what I thought, I just couldn't find the CBA rule ...

Still, be might be worth the waiver pickup and then given a shot on the roster. Worst case he's waived and taken. We have a contract spot and we could easily clear another one out so what the hell... A .4 ppg winger in the AHL after 1.5 seasons? Absolutely worth it.. I think Detroit is dumb for waiving him to begin with.

Nobody can be that stupid to take out multiple huge loans at those interest rates. This is criminal. He needs to sue the pants off his parents. I know that's an easy thing for me to sit here and say, but there's no way what happened was an accident or stupidity.

And Bolts coming off a bad loss too.

I think the situation in Toronto is definitely media driven. They're not that bad. They're just not good either. And with the Raptors being treated like Kings, the Leafs are now second-rate where any mistake is over-magnified more that it has ever been.

I'm convinced that if the same roster was on Long Island or Phoenix they would have a better record.

Toronto is the worst place to play if you're an NHL player. New York is the opposite.

Yeah. When you have a multi-million dollar golden goose, There's no reason to take out those loans unless you've been involved in criminal activity and owe the mob or bookies or Vegas millions.

And what sick freak agrees to 12 pct interest? It's too easy to shop for a lower rate. If he had bad credit, then ask your son to do it.

seriously, I'm 24 and I think the highest interest rate I've ever paid was 15% for a credit card once, and about 8% for a car loan...

The parents might actually be involved in criminal activity. That's a scary thought
