Previous topic ended with...

- Avs in dire goaltending straits thanks to injuries,

Pittsburgh or Washington would seem better places for Yakupov than Columbus.

I'd like to see him far away from the Edmonton dumpster fire, though.

Can we? That was a pretty asinine conversation in general

It was actually a great conversation when you get past that part of it. It was a good look into this board in a meta sort of way. It also gave us all a good understanding of how people should be acting when contracts are handed out in the future.

So overall I thought it was a fantastic dialogue.

Oilers lose. Worst start in franchise history.

I feel bad for their fans.

I don't understand how anybody involved with that ****show is still employed. How many high picks and coaching changes can you blow through before you're held accountable?

Their owner is a rich guy - one of the wealthiest in Canada - who, I think, is more interested in be buddy-buddy with guys from the Oilers dynasty years than he is in winning a cup. The front office is fantasy camp for him.

Of course, front office moves don't necessarily mean much in the end. The various Leafs owners have been churning things forever and the results speak for themselves - although, at least they're sensitive enough to a cranky public that they'll make cosmetic changes to seem like they're 'trying'.

I wonder if Avs are considering Brodeur or Bryz as a patch?

They are off to a shaky start and seem destined for a letdown season.
