Just noticed that St. Louis used the pick they got from Boston for Wade Redden ( 6th round - 176th overall in 2014 Draft ) to pick Sammy Blais.

that’s funny.

This is why I never consider the value of draft pick trades after the player is drafted. Such a disingenuous assessment of wins/losses way after the fact.

Neal's style did not mesh with Calgary's at all. Add in that the coach soured on him fast and it was a recipe for disaster. Not surprised Neal is having a resurgence in Edmonton. I am surprised how many goals he has already, but I don't see that being sustainable. Only 5 games in, just over a week into the season. Way, way too early to forming opinions yet. Just strap in and enjoy the ride, plenty of unexpected results so far.

A bounce back from Neil meant you get a first liner with size. Lucic will be better too but he’s only a 3rd liner. I think he’ll fall off before the contract ends but right now he’s that high end piece all those bust draft picks haven’t been. Which they desperately needed it’s McDavod Draisatl RNH and bottom 6 guys and they’re paying Gagner to play in the AHL. They gave up a top 5 bad contract for that. So struck gold.

Edmonton’s only bad deals are the buyouts they’re still paying.

I think they keep it going.
