The simple way to fix housing issues is to make it so that Canadian property can only be owned by Canadian citizens.

15% of Vancouver housing is empty because it's owned by foreigners living abroad. It's insane. We've let foreign demand price our own citizens out of housing and then there isn't enough housing for people even to rent affordably because such an obscene amount of property is sitting empty.

Anyway, the Coyotes are a joke and so is the fact that the NHL hasn't fixed the LTIR cheating debacle and Vegas is being allowed to do this yet again.
That and it was also the aftermath of the financial crisis where banks lowered interest rates to basically nothing to stimulate the economy, plus low supply and increasing demand.

SLC is a less developed Denver from the sounds of it. Aside from the religious stuff.

I get the attraction of AZ during the NHL season. Just would not want to be there during the summer and the intensity of 40 degrees Celsius heat.
The thing about SLC is that things are closed early and a bunch of places are closed on Sundays. It's also very homogeneous but some people might like that about it.

That is the demographic. Very religious as well. Largest concentration of people of the Mormon faith in the USA. Lots of married college aged people.

slc is a suburban hellscape. imagine your average american city with the downtown completely excised and you're left with slc

Also, is the league sure Meruelo is the kind of guy they want owning a franchise again?

he'll never get a team again

he has first right of refusal on an expansion team in Arizona, but that would be contingent on building an arena. something he couldn't get done during his entire tenure owning the Coyotes.

I don’t think he was actually interested in getting a stadium. He just wanted to flip the franchise and then he made min effort to keep the team running.
He could’ve spent like a little bit of money for the last referendum and he didn’t. That shows you how little he actually cared.

This feels surreal. The constant “is THIS the last straw for the Coyotes?” Storylines have been a consistent part of the NHL fabric for decades.

I feel terrible for their fans. I think there’s a good market there - it just sucks that the right ownership, arena, will and model to make the franchise viable never materialized.

Edmonton looks terrible this game. Important reminder that every team plays down to their opposition sometimes, it isnt just us. Edmonton can turn it on and take it but so far...horrible effort.

One things for sure, if they dont turn it up, they will be well rested for tomorrows game XD
