Leafs fans are already trying to put the loss solely on Samsonov's shoulders. What more could you ask from your goalie? He held Boston to one goal in regulation and then got beat by one of the best goal scorers in the league on a breakaway in OT.

Toronto had the most expensive forward group in the league this year and was the lowest scoring team in the first round. Only scored one goal in a game seven. That's where the blame needs to lie.

Kudos to Lindholm/Pasta on that OT goal, that was a beauty. Hard not cringe at the Leaf's reaction to the play while it's in motion though. Rielly(Leaf's best defenseman by far) oblivious to the danger and reacting late, and Nylander doing the full controller disconnected standup glide(even if he's outside the parameter of the play)

Woll getting hurt before the game made this loss almost feel destined though, you start to feel like there really is a curse Not that Samsonov played poorly, he gave them a chance to win which is all you can do.

Marner should be getting the heat. Tavares as well. Those 2 were no shows. Samsonov did what he could to keep the Leafs in it and was one of their better players in this one tbh

So thankful he’s never jumped on our bandwagon. Was on the Flames wagon back in 2022 when we humiliated them, then he jumped off and joined the Leafs wagon. Talk about horrible life choices.

Honestly, I hardly noticed Marner because I was so hyper focused on Reilly half assing it back to the puck. Like dude it's Game 7 OT, you can't leave anything to chance so you have to do everything possible to go get that puck. Just a shccking lack of awareness in that moment but also par for the course for that core.

There was a surprising amount of half-assing on that play.
