Our top line has 3 guys at or over a point per game, but let's break them up for a third liner and demote better players. Just f***ing brilliant logic.

Let's order our favorite meals minus a favorite ingredient while we're at it

Lol, stop it! How many lines have you seen, over the years, that appear to be unstoppable during the regular season, that can’t seem to buy a goal in the playoffs? Depth wins championships. The thought of a Bennett-Lindholm-Neal 3rd line sounds pretty good. Not that it matters, Anderson won’t be cheap and we don’t have the expendable pieces to acquire him.

I think we need a change of pace in this thread so I'll throw this out there.

On CP, a poster made a very interesting observation to Bill Peters. The observation is that he looks like Gordon Ramsay with a slightly different hairdo.

I cannot unsee this now. Have fun unseeing this ya'll.

If Gordon Ramsey did a season co-hosting with Guy Fieri maybe.

Not fat shaming Peters, as I'm probably in a similar weight class lol. There is a comparison for facial structure, but Peters has a lot more meat on his frame.

Previously, probably. But more recently?

If the Flames could make a move for Anderson they should especially since the CBJ would be trading from a position of weakness due to the trade request. In fact I'd love to see us throw together a package of Czarnik / Neal / Frolik for Panarin / Anderson... can you imagine?

Panarin-Bennett-Tkachuk
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Monahan
Dube-Backlund-Anderson
Mangiapane-Jankowski-Ryan

That'd be a deadly, deadly team.
I love your posts, man. Don't ever change.

Thats why we added guys like Neal, Ryan and Czarnik, in addition to Lindholm.

Also as for tge I'd it sandwich line the others are joking about, I'd have to guess it will have Bennett in the middle

Honestly... I don't see a lot of move for Calgary that make sense at this time minus some depth moves (like a vet D guy for a playoff run) or getting a stud goalie for a song. I don't see either really happening any time soon.

We have 4 guys above PPG on the team. When's the last time that even happened? I know we're only 5 games into the season; but at the same time last season, we had been shut out 2 times in 5 games, the team leaders were:

Gaudreau and Brodie were our leading scorers with 7 and 5 points respectively.
Chucky had 4. Mony had 4.

This year, Johnny with 8.
Chucky with 7
Mony with 6
Lindy with 6.

The great thing is the depth, like, absolutely:

Last year after 5 games:

Gaudreau (7) - Monahan (4) - Ferland (1)
Tkachuk (4) - Backlund (3) - Frolik (3)
Versteeg (3) - Bennett (0) - Brouwer (0)
Glass(0 point) - Stajan (0) - Lazar(1)

This year:
Gaudreau (8) - Monahan (6) - Lindholm (6) --> 67% increase from last year.
Tkachuk (6) - Backlund (2) - Czarnik (3) --> 10% increase from last year.
Bennett (2) - Dube (1) - Neal (2) --> 67% increase from last year.
Jankowski/Frolik (1) - Ryan (1) - Hathaway/Peluso (0) --> 200% increase from last season

We're on pace to be a higher middle table team in terms of scoring. We're not inflated shooting %, and our PDO is bottom half of the table. I do think this team is the read deal.

Once Hammer comes back... watch out.

Agreed. With our new additions and Tue normalization of our putrid shooting percentage from a year ago, we have a legitimate shit at finishing in the top 1/3 in scoring and should be top half for sure.

f***in CLASSIC!

Not only are we absolutely robbing columbus for Panarin (while getting rid of Frolik and Neal contracts), but we also are elevating bennett to #1 centre. No surprise at all that Monahan is playing wing in your theoretical lineup but it's just the cherry on top.

I know it’s a very small sample size but I am really excited by the hot start Pettersen is off to. He could really establish himself as a legit prospect this year.

I know he has a ton of skill. I just hope he’s more than a Markus Granlund.

And Lindstrom is a fine player, smart and all. But I think he lacks any kind of NHL upside. Honestly I don’t think he will ever come over.
