Are we going to see Lagesson again?

I’m really missing him in our lineup. I thought he was one of our most consistent and impressive dmen for the most part this year. For some reason he has found himself in the press box.

I thought he was really poised, calm under pressure and cleared the crease quite nicely. Am I missing something here?

Lagesson's opportunities increased when injuries hit the blueline and diminished once the group got back to being fully healthy. It appears as though he sits at #8 on the depth chart and I'd deem that to be sensible enough.

Hopefully we see more of him, it would be good to have a small internal market for that 3LD spot in the offseason.

We need one of him or Benoit in the lineup next year on the cheap to complete a good value left side so we can free up as much cap for the right where we need big impact players sooner than later. The way we're going we might have a suprise ask from Benoit and an untested asset in Lags. They were pretty comparable when both were getting ice time.

They need to move Brodie off the top pairing. He’s done as a reliable defender and has no physicality to his game. Reilly needs a Schenn type stay at home dman beside him to allow him to use his legs and move up ice more. Brodie and Gio are barely hanging on in the league and Lagesson and Benoit are physical but 1st not pairing material. Lilly is seems to be the only other option for Reilly and I’d rather see Benoit and Lagesson in the lineup than Brodie and Gio. Both are struggling now and will get destroyed in the playoffs. The Leafs really need to find two top six dman in trades but at what cost? Not sure this forward group or goaltending will get them through a round anyway.

Obviously doesn't contribute on the PP, but has some very good PK stats, albeit in a small sample size (30 4v5 PK mins, Brodie leads the team with 103).

I think he's a nice depth dman for us, but I don't think he's better than any of Rielly, Brodie, Lily, McCabe, Benoit or Gio overall. He and Timmins make a good #7/8 dmen, though.

Think there's an argument to be made that he should rotate in as the 6th defenseman from time to time, not sat out long term.

Keep Benoit on the third pairing for this year, give him a little more responsibility to test him.. sign him to a nice team friendly extension, then try him in top 4 after that.... it would be so Leafy to move him to top 4, elevate his salary demands to top four, and screw ourselves.

Benoit in the top four feels like a case of too much, too soon. I'd prefer any ascension in the lineup for him to be a matter of his promotion and not a demotion for one of the others/promoting him due to a lack of impressive options in the top four.
