Probably close to zero. The 2012 Los Angeles Kings were probably the most average team to win a SC in the modern era.

But even they had above average goaltending, defense, and penalty kill. below average offense. they were not average across the board like the Devils.

There’s literally only one thing average about that team and it was how many PP goals they scored

I don't think they were average. They have the lowest SRS of any SC winner and are the closest to an average team to win the Stanley Cup in the past 40 years. Thats all. They were a young team with a great defense and goaltending. They went on an absolute tear in the playoffs. They just hit their stride late.

How many stanley cup do the average team have?

97* NHL seasons and 31 teams = 3.13 per team
NJ = 3 cups

Pretty average.

*Does not count seasons when the PCHA won the cup or the cup was not awarded.

Hmm only 19 teams out of 31 have won the cup. And only 11 teams have won more than 2 so I'd say they're above average there but that has nothing to do with the premise of this thread.
