I am going back to 98 since thats when I started following hockey. Since then I can't think of a team that has preformed worse in games where they are considered the heavy favorite.
The 7-1 loss to the Pens, David Ayres
99 loosing to Hasek in the Conference finals.
Qual round against the Jackets
Last yr against the Habs.
If any other team has had a run similar let me know?

No.

"Expect to Win" would require you to assume the Leafs are better than the other team.

If the Leafs faithful stopped expecting wins and just letting the team work out of this funk, they wouldn't be so jaded. Every team goes through a cold streak. They'll break out soon enough. Can they sustain a hot streak long enough to get into the playoffs? We'll see.

If and when that happens, the hype machine will be full blast. And that's the problem. Jeff O'Neill and the Toronto Sports Network climaxes everytime something positive happens to the Leafs. This results in the highest of highs and lowest of lows for the fanbase. The mood in Leafland is so very bipolar.

The Leafs are just like everyone else. They win and lose games just like everyone. No expectations.
