reincarnated? the Canucks have literally been in the NHL since before the Whalers ever even existed(even as a WHA team)
Yes but the whale influence has come within the last 20 years right?

When I see Canucks home colors I think whalers

This is a silly thread, but you might like this:

Whalers moved following the 96-97 season. The next season, 1997-98, was the first appearance of the whale on Canucks jerseys.

another random tidbit, the islanders had a fisherman on their uniform for a couple seasons in the 90s

after the 96-97 season when the Whalers moved it disappeared never to be seen again

I think we're on the edge of a pretty vast conspiracy here people

The Canucks and Whalers last trade sent Jim Down to Vancouver

Last year Nick Dowd played 40 games for the Canucks

Not related but it is an odd coincidence

No, the Whaler's had crap teams with a great logo, while the Canucks had great teams with a logo that's trying to take a crap. Totally different.

Canucks had the royal and green design before any sports team. Whalers/Seahawks/Atlanta Hawks/Mavericks etc.

Whalers back when they were just called New England Whalers had a Sonics colorway theme as well

No. There are tons of quality reasons to rip on the Nucks (I know this having had a roommate in first year uni who's family were season ticket holders), but ripping off the Whalers isn't one of them.

The Canucks have been far more successful. I think the Whalers had one first place finish in the Adams Division. Ever.

At least the ‘Nucks have been to three Stanley Cup Finals.

No comparison at all.
