What core players on the sharks are developing?
Pavelski, Couture, Thornton, Hertl, Vlassic, Burns, Jones are not developing players.
You can't be serious. Thornton and Marleau at one time were the Sharks best players. With Jumbo the leader as recently as before the injuries started to set in. With the exception of Burns the team is now basically bereft of superstars. Pavelski, Couture are shadows, Hertl finding his game. Vlassic is no star.
Who are the Sharks still developing:
Donskoi, Leblanc, Meier, Sorenson, Tierney, Hertl, Demelo. You don't get good picks when you chronically finish high in the standings for a dozen years. This is the scorched earth that results. Limited depth. Sharks tried to make a project of Kane and we'll see how that goes.
In anycase the Sharks are a shadow of the team they used to be. Heroic efforts of Burns is altering that but frankly without him and solid coaching the Sharks are not even a playoff calibre club.
Pavelski also looks done to me at age 34. He was pretty ordinary all season and couldn't finish anything in the playoffs. One of his two goals was an empty net.
The Sharks are most definitely in a rebuild. Where they currently are is what the Oilers would be like after McD and Draisaitl were not there. You do realize Thornton didn't play at all in the last 4 mths right?
