Looks like another reboot and another new Hellboy to come. This one won't be in present day but the 50s. Mike Mignola, Hellboy comics creator is involved this time.

Production is expected to start in March in Bulgaria. In a first for the films, Mignola will be co-writing its script with frequent collaborator Chris Golden. Millenium president Jeffrey Greenstein was quick stress that Mignola’s involvement would make Crooked Man the best adaptation of the bunch. “Mike Mignola and the creator of the comics will finally shepherd an authentic version of his stories and characters in film form,” said Greenstein. “This is the first in the series of films that will captivate audiences in familiar (and new) ways.”

At time of writing, neither a cast or release date for Hellboy: The Crooked Man has been disclosed.

Is that a record for restart?
Spider-Man was close with the Sony Garfield nonsense.

Suicide Squad had 5 years, albeit it was a "soft" reboot (or restart as you say). Never a second reboot though.

no matter how good (or bad) it is people will not accept anyone other than Ron Perlman as Hellboy
David Harbour wasn't bad...given the big shoes (or right hand) that he had to fill.
Didn't Perlman say he'd only do another Hellboy if it was directed by Del Toro?

Looks like they found their Hellboy, Hellboy's Next Movie Reboot The Crooked Man Finds Its Star

Millennium Media’s upcoming adaptation of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy has found its Big Red. Jack Kesy (The Strain) will star in The Crooked Man.

The film, from Brian Taylor (Crank), will cover the events of the comic’s 2008 “Crooked Man” run, with a script written by Mignola and Chris Golden. The story, as shared by Millennium Media in the release, follows Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, where they “discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.”
