Just figured I would post the numbers from the tournament of Canada's defense.

Brewer..............6-1-3-4, +6, 25 yrs, 2.65M salary
Foote...............6-0-3-3, +7, 33 yrs, 4.40M salary
Niedermayer......6-1-1-2, +1, 31 yrs, 7.00M salary
Redden.............2-0-1-1, 0, 27 yrs, 4.70M salary
Hannan.............5-0-1-1, +3, 25 yrs, 2.55M salary
Jovanovski.........1-0-0-0, 0, 28 yrs, 4.75M salary
Regehr..............6-0-0-0, +2, 24 yrs, 1.75M salary
Bouwmeester.....4-0-0-0, +3, 20 yrs, 1.185M salary

Brewer sure doesn't look out of place, I guess Gretzky and company knew something when putting him on the team. Brewer's numbers are even more impressive when you consider that he played a considerable amount of time against the oppositions top lines.

I was getting sick of all the Brewer bashing, so I had to post a positive thread now that the tournament is over. (Numbers taken from a thread on Oilers board)

that is cool to see. Gretz and Co. did alright, huh?

Totally, Brewer was one of our best defenseman, and he totally deserved to make this team.

Our worst defenseman by far was Neidermeyer, he was a total liability those last two games. :shakehead

Bouwmeester and Hannan were the biggest liabilities. Which is also why Quinn didn't play them the last period.

Hannan had a hard time keeping up with the fast skating Finnish forwards, Bouwmeester was just inexperienced and it showed.

Primeau got the call, but was still recovering from the last concussion so opted not to go.

They were on the ice in the third, in fact late in the third.
