Super messed up. Reading the allegations, there should be multiple areas of potential corroboration:

1. The player reported it to the accused's supervisor.
2. There was a possible second allegation against the same coach.
3. The player took the complaint to the National Hockey League Players’ Association.
3. The player mentioned “inappropriate text messages” which there may be records of or they can be recovered.

There should be contemporaneous records which will great assist in verifying the substance of the allegation if not the events themselves.
