Reece Scarlett

45 points in 105 games in the AHL and only 22 years old but only 170-180 pounds. I could see him compete for a 3rd pairing role in 2016/2017

That will be his biggest hurdle to make the bigs.

He has trouble putting on weight and building his strength.

Otherwise he's a good defenseman in the mold of The Wild's Nate Prossor.

Wedgewood's been far from impressive in both the ECHL and AHL at this point. If he was good enough to be an NHL goalie, there'd have been signs of it already, regardless of team strength.

Defense's fault bro, in both Trenton and Albany.

Seriously though, I'm not sure if he does belong in the top 20 at all.

He's been a bad goaltender for 3 years since turning pro.

This feels low to me for Reece. Maybe should of went a few spots sooner.

Yeah, I agree. But I guess when you look down the list of prospects, there's a TON of uncertainty. And with prospects, that can be a good thing, because a player hasn't ruled out the possibility of being some miracle steal of a player. I think that ups the perceived value a bit (and I don't mean that negatively) for guys like Mozik and Kalinin, who might very well flame out in the AHL and never come back. Or Hrabarenka, who could Urbom his way out of the league in less than a month after having a pretty promising AHL career.
