As someone who lives in the area I promise you no one in LA county could give less of a f*** about either player, nor would that change with a move to Long Beach
I know I know, it's just that Arte has wanted out of the OC forever and now is his chance.

I'm an Angels fan and I'd stop following the team if they moved to Long Beach. Them leaving the area of their fanbase to go somewhere no one cares about them would be the Chargers all over again.

There's not enough space at the Long Beach site, according to various commentaries regarding this. Heck, Ballpark Digest (which is usually pretty darn knowledgeable) is pretty sure they'll ultimately just renegotiate a new version of the sale. Might cost the Angels a bit more, but considering the real money is to be made in turning some of the vast sprawling parking lots into a ballpark village a la the Battery at Truist Park, in the end money talks.
