Player Discussion Andrew Ference

I've said it before: Say anything you want about Ference the hockey player (right now) but Ference the human being is an absolute role model.

I'm the guy that reached out to Ference and the Oilers, but there are dozens of fantastic people doing fantastic things for this kid since the story broke.

Might want to edit the title to include what the story is about. Massive kudos to CCM and Ference for stepping up in a big way here. He didn't even have to acknowledge the tweet I sent him - frankly I didn't expect him to.

We all get hate the Oilers losing . But people need to remember it is entertainment and what Ference does off the ice is more important . Too me helping this kid makes him more of a star then what he has ever done on the ice .

Reminds me of what Cal Ripken Jr and all the charities he funded .

This is why as much as I don't like the player, I hope the man stays in the organization for a long time. Pure class and a fantastic role model.

Well that complicated issues with the cap when it comes to a buyout. If he stayed on LTIR for a big part of next season it would have helped the cap situation a little.
