Idk. But it does sound like he's gone for the bulk of the season if not all of it. Or more.
Without knowing anything but the fact that Halak is getting a PTO to have 3 goalies long-term, I can't argue with that concern.

Ugh. Andersen may be spotty, but he also has the highest ceiling of any of these goalies, and showed it last year in the postseason when the Canes needed it.

Can Raanta/Kochetkov carry the Canes in the playoffs? I know Kochetkov has shown flashes of brilliance, and Raanta can carry the load for short periods. But I think we would be looking at a tandem in the playoffs.

Let’s focus on what matters for a second.

I hope he’s ok because this sounds bad even if it isn’t life threatening. It still sounds potentially legit bad. Thoughts and prayers to Freddie till we know more.
It's hard for me to focus on this when we have no idea what "this" is, but agreed.

I feel like kochetkov has a higher ceiling than Andersen but getting him steady is the issue.

Sucks for Freddie, he was just starting to maybe get in more of a rhythm too. Definitely sounds like he may be out for a while, in which case sign Halak cheap and you run Raanta/Halak with spot duty for Kochetkov and hope Freddie comes back eventually.

Poor guy. I hope he finds a good medical team who can help with whatever is going on.
World class medical teams at both Duke and UNC Hospital systems and if he needs a liver specialist I’m sure they could identify one quickly in the US Medical system.

Get well Freddie!!!!!

Btw: I wonder if those defenseman (ie TDA) trade rumors came out because the Canes were pinging the marketplace for a goalie before the Freddie news came out.

Well I'm not one to assume the worst until we know otherwise. Hopefully whatever it is can be treated effectively and he has a complete recovery. Certainly is in a prime location to receive top notch care. Get well soon, Freddie.
