non Hart team:

Lindsay Yzerman Bossy
Moore Dionne Cook
Mahovlich Richard Conacher
Jackson Stastny Kurri

Harvey Bourque
Potvin Lidstrom
Kelly Park

Roy
Sawchuk

Not surprisingly the non-Hart team defence is much better than the Hart team defence. Left Wings are arguably better too.

You can make an entire team of non-Hart winners with better careers than Jose Theodore :biglaugh:

The era after Hasek/Jagr left their prime and before Ovechkin started his was pretty weak. Pronger, Sakic, Theodore, Forsberg, St. Louis, Thornton.

St. Louis's will look strange at the end of his career. Maybe Thornton and Pronger's too. Theodore's is the weirdest though, because not only was it a weakened year, he was never again nearly as good as he was that year, which can't be said for the others.

These are the trophies: Hart, Art Ross, Norris, Vezina, Conn Smythe, Selke

It's just a thread topic, if you want to make a list or mention players based on a different list of trophies, it would be stupid for me to try to say you can't, but please either use that list or specify that you've changed so we're not all confusing eachother

Again, if a guy wins the Vezina (old definition) as a backup (Rogie Vachon), does he qualify?

Mahovlich - Richard - Cook
Park - Horton

Vachon OR ... I dunno. There HAS to be a better choice than Mike Richter.

Wow, this is more complicated than I thought.

Let's say old style Vezina counts but not if you were the backup.

Was Henri Richard that good or do you guys not know that Maurice Richard won the Hart trophy in 1947?

Well, Maurice isn't exactly a prototypical center...

I'd probably take any of Rogie Vachon, Gerry Cheevers, Curtis Joseph or Roberto Luongo over Mike Richter.

Vachon might not be eligible...

And... I was pretty sure Cheevers won the Vezina during his very last season, but it seems the award went to Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards.

So.. yeah, I'm okay with Cheevers.

Weakest Hart trophy team---

Hull Kennedy Bathgate
Ovechkin Sedin Geoffrion
Blake O'Connor Hull
Joliat Burch St. Louis

Pronger Siebert
Pratt Goodfellow
Gardiner Anderson

Rollins
Theodore

They would be crushed by the no Hart team.
